Martina Chapanay is a 2D pixel-art action platformer with an NES-inspired aesthetic, recreating the life of its titular protagonist: a Huarpe gaucha who fought in the civil wars of Argentina's post-independence era, in the Cuyo region. Structured into chapters, each with its own navigable world map and historical moment, the game combines action platforming, a weapon-upgrade progression system, and (in future development) a wider variety of level types, including horseback-riding stages and stealth sections. The project began as the winning entry of the "Women of Independence" game jam and is now in active development toward the full release.
