Resistance 204X is an indie 2D fighting game built so anyone can jump in, without losing the depth that makes fighting games great.
Your goal isn't just to knock out your opponent, you also have to race to the finish line at the end of the stage. Each player runs in the opposite direction, so every match turns into a constant push and pull between fighting and advancing.
The controls are minimal, three directions and two buttons, but they open the door to combos, guard breaks, throws, and plenty of mind games. Platforming adds an extra layer of strategy that's not common in the genre.
For the art and music, we follow one simple rule: everything is a remix. We pull references from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s and mix them into something new.
The story takes place in a dystopian future where a megacorporation controls almost everything, and the most popular sport, Tug Fighting, ends up deciding who rules.
Resistance 204X is in development for PC, Android, and iOS, with a full release planned for 2027.
